Acceptable use policy

This page explains, in plain words, the rules for using Office by Sam. "You" means the plumbing business that buys our service. The binding rules are in our Customer Agreement (Master Services Agreement). If this page and the Customer Agreement differ, the Customer Agreement applies.

Use it for your own plumbing business

• Use the service only for your own plumbing business, and only in line with the laws that apply to you.
• Don't resell the service or its texts, and don't let another business use your number or your setup.

Keep your setup correct

• Give us complete and correct business information, and approve your setup before go-live and after each change.
• Liam works from the setup you approved: your services, service area, hours and the prices he may share. You are responsible for what's in it.
• Keep your contacts and emergency contacts reachable and up to date.

People you name for texts and alert calls

• Only name people who have agreed to get our service texts and our automated emergency alert calls, which may use an AI voice. When you name someone, you confirm to us that they agreed.
• You are responsible for each person's agreement (Master Services Agreement, section 9.6). They can reply STOP at any time.
• If someone leaves your business or no longer wants our texts or calls, remove them from your setup. You always need at least one contact who gets our texts.

Texts and calls to your callers

• Our service sends only service messages about a caller's own request. It does not send marketing.
• Don't ask us to send bulk or promotional messages or newsletters, to text purchased lists, or to use the service for mass prospecting or unrelated automation.
• Don't ask us to contact a caller who didn't agree to it on the call.
• Don't ask us to remove, shorten or change Liam's AI notice and the consent question at the start of a call.
• If you contact a caller yourself, outside our service, that is your responsibility, including any consent the law requires.

Not allowed

• Anything illegal or fraudulent.
• Trying to disrupt our website or service, or to get into them, or into another business's data, without permission.
• Using the service to contact 911 or as an emergency service. Office by Sam does not replace 911.

If you misuse the service

We may suspend the service, or only the affected number or feature, right away and without notice if we decide in good faith that it is used illegally, for spam or harassment, against carrier texting rules, without the consent people need to give, or in a way that puts security at risk (Customer Agreement, section 7.6). We email you the reason and what you need to do. Your monthly fee still applies.

If the rules are broken

• If you materially break the Customer Agreement and don't fix it within 30 days after we tell you, we may end the Agreement.
• If a fine, penalty or carrier charge is imposed on us because you broke the Customer Agreement or the law, you pay it back to us.
• You are responsible for claims that come from texts or calls you asked for outside the service, or from contacting callers without the consent they need to give.
