You're under a sink. The phone buzzes. By the time you call back, they've hired someone else.
Your managed front desk for plumbing businesses.
Liam, our AI assistant, answers calls on the new business number we give you. Liam writes down the job and texts it to you. We set it all up and run it.
Liam answers as long as you have call time left that day. See Pricing.
Water's running, the shutoff is stuck, and your pocket buzzes. Twenty minutes later it's a missed call, no voicemail, and they already got somebody.
The phone lights up the bedroom at 2 a.m. Pick up and you're awake for good. Don't, and they call the next plumber.
Someone with a leak calls the first plumber who picks up. You paid for that call with your ads and your truck lettering, and someone else got the job.
"Hey, call me back." No name, no address. Three calls and two voicemails later, the job is gone.
You write the address on a parts receipt. Then it goes through the wash with your work pants.
Two towns over. Price shoppers. "Do you sell water filters?" Each one pulls you off the job you're paid for.
The phone rings while you're merging with a van full of parts. You pull over, call back, and you're late for the next job.
An office person means payroll, sick days and someone to cover lunch. For a one- or two-person shop, that's a big step.
Your name is on the truck. You don't want a robot pretending to be a person, or a stranger quoting prices you never agreed to.
Kids get sick. Trucks break down. When you're the whole business, nobody picks up when you can't.
You take calls at your kid's game, at dinner and on Sunday morning. Your family has learned to wait.
A cold snap hits and the whole town calls at once. One person can only hold one phone.
You answer from a hot attic with a saw running. "Can I call you back?" Some of them won't pick up.
The slow drain, the softener quote, the landlord upstairs. By Friday you can't remember who you promised to call back.
Ads, listings, the van wrap. Then the phone rings while you're in a crawl space, and the call goes nowhere.
You're the plumber, the dispatcher, the bookkeeper and the one who answers the phone.
It's not really about the phone. It's the jobs that never happened and the evenings you didn't get back.
That's what Office by Sam is for.

In 2001, I worked on scaffolding in New York. It was hard, physical work, and I know what a day like that takes out of you. I know where I came from, and I know where I am now. When you run your own business, there's no time left for the phone and the paperwork.
We set up and run your front desk, so you have less to handle. We take the load off.
