What these texts are
Office by Sam Service Texts are service messages about the Office by Sam service. We send them only to plumbing businesses that buy our service and to the staff those businesses name. They include new job details, water and gas or carbon monoxide emergency alerts, notices when a job is not confirmed in time, and confirmations of setup and of changes made in our system, such as your hours. Billing notices are sent by email, not by text. We never send marketing or promotional texts.
We don't chat by text. Replies to our texts are not read by a person, and we check them only for opt-out requests. To change anything, call us at +1 (401) 289-8785.
Every text we send ends with: "Replies aren't read by a person. Reply STOP to opt out or call +1 (401) 289-8785."
How you sign up
- Business owners: at online checkout, by ticking the separate SMS consent box.
- Staff named by a business: the business gives us your name and mobile number and confirms to us that you agreed to get these texts and our automated emergency alert calls, which may use an AI voice. You can reply STOP at any time, or HELP for help.
How often
Message frequency varies. It depends on how many calls and jobs your business gets.
Cost
Msg & data rates may apply. We do not charge you for the texts we send or receive. Your mobile carrier's message and data rates may apply.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any text from +1 (401) 289-8785. You can also reply QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE. These words always work. We will send one text to confirm: "Office by Sam: You are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages." After that, we send no more texts to that number. If a business named you to get our texts, replying STOP also stops our automated alert calls to your number. To start again, text START to +1 (401) 289-8785.
Stopping texts does not cancel your subscription. To cancel, use our cancellation page (see our Terms of Service). While texts are stopped, job and emergency details cannot reach you by text.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any text from +1 (401) 289-8785. We will reply: "Office by Sam: For help with your service texts, call +1 (401) 289-8785 or email info@officebysam.com. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."
Texts to people who call a plumbing business
If you called a plumbing business that uses Office by Sam, any text about your job comes from that business's own number, in that business's name, and only about your job, after you agreed to it on the call. You get one text when the business takes the job: when the visit is and who is coming. After that, you only get a text if you call and change the job, or if the business changes the visit or can't come. That text gives the business's number to call if the change doesn't suit you. In an emergency (other than a gas or carbon monoxide call), if nobody from the business can take the job, you get one call and one text telling you not to wait. Your agreement covers only that job; on a new call, we ask again. Each text ends with a line saying replies aren't read by a person and how to opt out. Replies are not read by a person; to change anything, call the business. Reply STOP to that number to stop those texts. Those texts are covered by that business's own messaging terms.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Not for emergencies
Do not use texts to us to report an emergency. In an emergency, call 911.
Privacy
